A graduated network of circulation routes relieves traffic congestion, and carefully activated voids open the building up to its surroundings. A north-south axis binds square and garden into a unified neighbourhood centre—a place of gathering and recovery. Throughout, the existing building fabric is embraced and integrated into a new architectural tectonics in a symbiosis of fusion.
