E FRANKLIN

The 15-storey residential building "E" is part of the H-O-M-E high-rise family, the guiding principle behind the FRANKLIN redevelopment area in Mannheim. A sculpturally shaped rectangular structure rises above a 2-storey base: recesses, cut-outs and changes in materials create an imposing, floating E. The high-rise contains 92 apartments, the base consists of 21 townhouses with their own access and gardens. The building meets the KfW 55 energy efficiency standard.
