Details
An 1819 storefront on Rua Áurea, Lisbon, once home to the official engraver of the Portuguese Royal House, was restored as the second store of Portugal Jewels. The interior is lined entirely in Chita de Alcobaça, the 18th-century printed cotton of Portuguese country homes, with hand-thrown ceramic plates and woven wicker on restored wooden furniture. The design treats the store not as commercial space, but as a domestic interior—the setting for which Portuguese jewellery was historically made.
