Details
This project proposes a new company building on Mt. Oboshi in Yamanashi, designed to reduce land grading by referencing kakezukuri, a traditional Japanese method for construction on steep slopes. It uses an expandable timber voxel lattice based on a 1820 × 1820 × 1350 mm module with bundled 120 mm square solid timber members. Structural elements are selectively removed to allow for circulation and more space for floors and walls, while standardised, replaceable components support durability and sustainability.
