Details
The CRCLR HUT is a prototype for circular construction at Berlin TXL. It is made from 98% reusable, renewable materials and can be fully disassembled. Developed with TRIQBRIQ and partners, it serves as a model for scalable, low-impact architecture and acts as a material bank. As a public platform, it promotes climate-positive, resource-efficient design for future urban development.
The Jury‘s Statement
CRCLR HUT, Beta Realities and Triqbriq are showing how the construction industry can use more circular practices. To this end, the architectural firm worked with a company that makes wooden building blocks to construct a 40 sqm pavilion on the site of the former Berlin Tegel Airport. The pavilion is made from 90% reusable materials and can be completely dismantled. This was made possible by using Triqbriq's plug-in system with other modular building materials, such as concrete alternatives, dry screed panels and insulation. They also reused parts such as windows that had been previously used elsewhere. This prototype is designed to be used in construction in a way that doesn't waste resources. It should be used as an example for other projects.
