Shinjuku Gyoemmae Residence (ZOOM Shinjuku Gyoemmae)

The façade of this 15-storey apartment block is divided into two elements through the combination of colours and materials. The balconies are deliberately covered with solid dark grey aluminium panels to hide the service elements that we do not want to emphasise in this apartment. The horizontal slabs and randomly installed vertical louvres form a delicate cage-like structure, creating a new cityscape.
