Cabane Tortin

Cabane Tortin is a private chalet located by the Verbier ski-resort at an altitude of 3,000 m. The footprint of the building follows that of an earlier construction and the main floor is cantilevered outside this base. The design seeks to both respect and also convey the drama of the surrounding landscape and panoramic views over the alpine mountain range. The project is truly off-grid, without any infrastructure. Water is collected from a water course and stored. The chalet also utilises solar power and pellet heating.
