Kalkhof-Rose-Saal is Germany’s first chamber music hall to be built using timber construction. The project was executed while the academy remained fully operational. Specially designed acoustic panels ensure a unique sound experience. Never before has a chamber music hall been constructed as a timber structure in Germany – let alone as an extension of an existing ensemble. This required a fundamental rethinking of the principles of concert hall architecture.
