Details
The glow showroom transforms a compact 36-sqm site in Garosu-gil into a luminous brand experience for a cosmetics company centred on transparency and brilliance. Clear glass dissolves the boundary between interior and exterior, visually expanding the space while connecting it to the street. A curved glass partition guides circulation and subtly separates public and private zones, balancing openness with functionality through a refined, contemporary architectural language.
The Jury‘s Statement
This project in Seoul masterfully blurs the boundaries between interior and exterior. The transparent glass and mirrored surfaces, as well as the curved glass blocks, not only exemplify “clarity and purity,” the cosmetics company’s brand philosophy, but also make it a tangible, physical experience. As the flagship store’s floor area is rather compact at less than 40 sqm, the space-expanding effect of various lighting sequences, reflective surfaces, and open sightlines has been utilised. At the same time, rough concrete, cool tones, brushed metal, and light refractions—similar to those of a prism—draw visitors’ attention to what really matters: the beauty products.
