Details

The Seoul Children’s Grand Park Art Center is an adaptive reuse of an animal theatre closed in 2020. Beyond mere remodelling, selective demolition and reconstruction methods create a forest theatre integrating natural light and acoustics. The stage is reconfigured for human performance, with a new seating area built on the existing structure, and the lobby is vertically expanded. The design translates the scars of the past into a vibrant cultural identity, re-establishing the spatial ethics of the site.
