Xiamen Cardiovascular Hospital Xiamen University North Campus Project

The challenge for this National Center for Cardiovascular Medicine is not to design another regular hospital facility, but to integrate the adjacent greenbelt of Wuyuan Bay into the project, with the idea being a hospital in a garden and with no boundaries. The staggered volume recedes, leaning back to creat intersecting space for natural light, wind and greenery to ensure first and foremost it is a garden, and secondarily a hospital.
