Freedom Residence

Two simple rectangles connected by a central pavilion define this residence. Rammed earth walls divide the house into public and private spaces, as they are punctuated with large glass openings to create a biophilic experience. The rammed earth walls and the concrete floors contribute passive solar properties and Shou Sugi Ban cladding reduces maintenance. Cantilevered roof overhangs provide shade in the summer and sun penetration in the winter.
