Details
TRUNK(HOTEL) YOYOGI PARK in Tomigaya, Tokyo, is a 7-storey boutique hotel with 25 rooms, including 5 suites. Centred on the concept of ‘Urban Recharge,’ the hotel features a rooftop lounge and bar, an infinity pool framing the lush greenery of Yoyogi Park, a ground-floor Italian restaurant, and compact yet serene guestrooms. In close collaboration with Norm Architects, we crafted the interiors and bespoke furniture and lighting to deliver refined details and comfort throughout the hotel.
The Jury‘s Statement
In the heart of the Japanese metropolis of Tokyo, adjacent to a spacious landscape park in the Shibuya district, the Trunk(Hotel) Yoyogi Park promises to be an oasis of relaxation. The seven-storey boutique hotel, which boasts an impressive rooftop lounge and infinity pool, was designed by local architecture firm Keiji Ashizawa Design. The team enlisted the help of Danish firm Norm Architects for the interior design of the 25 rooms and suites. Together, they have succeeded in creating a gentle interplay of materials that blend harmoniously to form a striking building that is both confident and understated. Particularly noteworthy is the consistency in the interaction between the interior, façade and exterior, which means that the hotel neither imposes itself nor hides away.
