Neuland Neuss is developing a climate-resilient, mixed-use urban neighbourhood on a former industrial brownfield site. An urban framework featuring block edges, open spaces, and green corridors creates distinct neighbourhood identities, with geothermal energy and solar power enabling a carbon- neutral energy supply, while landscaping and rainwater management enhance the microclimate and biodiversity. Low-car mobility and flexible land uses ensure the project’s sustainability. The project’s twelve guiding principles are being implemented here for the first time.
