As a new, timber-built single-family house for a family of five, this archetypal two-storey longhouse in Essingen (KfW 55 EE) is oriented towards the garden and surrounding landscape. Open living areas, a central void, and flexible rooms create spaciousness and adaptability. The precise timber construction defines both atmosphere and expression—bright and warm inside, yet restrained outside with a black timber facade.
