A place that links education and the public

The new building for the Technical College for Colour and Design takes the form of a compact structure with galvanised metal shell. Behind the robust facade lies a bright interior, at the centre of which is the light-filled hall with galleries and a colourful staircase. The “Test Pattern” art-in-architecture project was realised in collaboration with students. It interweaves art and craftsmanship and makes visible what defines this—partly public—space: a form of learning that understands space, material, and creativity as one.
