This headquarters project for an long-established IT company rethinks the closed nature of conventional office buildings by opening employees’ activities up to the city. Located at a major intersection in Kanazawa, the building uses materials and plants that harmonise with the historic streetscape. A gentle glass staircase visible from the intersection promotes interaction between floors, while louvers and deep eaves block about 90% of direct summer sunlight to improve the working environment.
